CHAT PERFORMANCE MODE Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026. CHAT PERFORMANCE MODE is a local Chrome extension that applies reversible performance controls to supported ChatGPT pages and reports local performance evidence.

Consent and local processing

The extension remains disabled until the user affirmatively enables local processing. Consent can be revoked in the extension settings.

Data processed on the device

  • ChatGPT page structure, element state and limited visible labels needed to operate the extension.
  • Message text processed transiently on-device only to derive structural and character-count measurements.
  • Structural counts, local timings and anonymous local page and session identifiers.
  • Supported ChatGPT tab lifecycle metadata, local settings, offload state and diagnostic categories.
  • Generic upload state for optional completion notifications and requested system-wide CPU and memory snapshots.

Data not collected

The extension does not retain or transmit prompts, responses or visible reasoning text; message text is processed transiently on-device only to derive structural and character-count measurements. It does not collect, store or transmit conversation titles, filenames, file contents, cookies, authentication tokens, account details or network payloads.

Storage, retention and deletion

Settings, capped structural analytics, timing samples, supported-tab and session state and generic notification metadata are stored locally in Chrome extension storage. Users can disable measurement or analytics, delete local history and revoke consent.

Sharing and remote services

The extension has no developer-operated server, analytics SDK, advertising service, remote script, external font, CDN dependency or private ChatGPT API integration. Data is not sold or transmitted to the developer or any third party.

Permissions and host access

Host access is limited to https://chatgpt.com/* and https://chat.openai.com/*. Chrome permissions are used only for the extension's local performance features.

Google API Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes and contact

This policy will be updated if the extension's data practices change. Questions can be sent to daniel@turingbridge.com.
